Full Scope Optometrist Position. Hawke's Bay, New Zealand | Full Time | Monday–Friday | No Weekends
We are looking for an enthusiastic Optometrist who genuinely loves eyes, vision and where Optometry is heading.

Directors Phil Donaldson and Tim Eagle are second-generation optometrists with a combined 57 years of experience. Mentoring, support and sharing knowledge are simply how we work. Our Optometrists are backed by experienced assistants, comprehensive pre-testing, modern diagnostic equipment, talented dispensing opticians and an outstanding contact lens service. You're never left to solve difficult cases alone.
The Role
You'll enjoy genuine full-scope private practice including:
Comprehensive eye examinations
Therapeutic Optometry
Emergency eye care
Myopia Management
Contact lenses
Ocular disease management
Co-management with ophthalmology
Visual reading and learning assessments
There are opportunities to develop further in:
Scleral lenses
Orthokeratology
Keratoconus/RGP fitting
Behavioural Optometry
Vision Therapy
Advanced Dry Eye management in our dedicated Dry Eye Clinic
Training and mentoring are provided throughout.
We use Sunnix Vision Elite CRM and Rendia patient education software. Experience is helpful but not essential.
Practice
Monday to Friday, 8.15am–5.15pm, No weekends
Hastings main practice (3 consulting rooms)
Waipukurau satellite practice (1 consulting room)
One regular day each week in Waipukurau
Future practice ownership potential for the right person.
What we're looking for
You'll be registered (or eligible for registration) with the New Zealand Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians Board.
More importantly, you'll enjoy solving clinical problems, communicating well with patients, working as part of a supportive team and continuing to grow as an Optometrist.
Private practice experience is helpful but not essential.
